Having taken a brilliant first ever MotoGP win in
the Czech Republic on Sunday, British rider Cal Crutchlow and his LCR Honda
Team were in action again on Monday for a day of testing at the Brno track.
Indeed, Crutchlow was the first rider to take to the
track once the pit-lane opened at 10am, although the session was initially
red-flagged when he discovered diesel had been spilt at turn 11. Once the area
had been cleaned the Grand Prix winner was back putting in laps until an
extended finish time of 6.30pm.
The Briton eventually completed 63 laps, fulfilling
vital testing work for both Michelin and Honda, and stopping the clock with a
best time of 1’56.273s, leaving him fourth on the timesheets.
Cal Crutchlow: “We’ve had a positive test today and
we were quite pleased with the lap times. We tested a couple of front tyres for
Michelin and a few small items for Honda. We had to work late because the track
wasn’t in an ideal condition this morning, but thanks to the team we worked
hard all day and hopefully it’ll bring us some positives for Silverstone.”
